The City and Borough of Juneau is located in the Panhandle of the state of Alaska. It has been the capital of Alaska since 1906. The area of Juneau is larger than that of Rhode Island and Delaware individually and almost as large as the two states combined.
Downtown Juneau is nestled at the base of Mount Juneau.  As of the 2010 census Juneau has a population of 31,275. Juneau is named after gold prospector Joe Juneau.  Downtown Juneau is at sea level just south of the Juneau Icefield, a large ice mass consisting of over 30 glaciers.

In recent years the Mendenhall glacier has been generally retreating, both in its front face and in width and height. The Alaska State Capitol is downtown Juneau, and was originally built as the Federal and Territorial Building in 1931.

Juneau is best known for two huge attractions: Whale Watching and the Mendenhall Glacier National Park.

Alaska Tour Center has brand new state of the art Whale Watching boats ranging in size from 24 – 49 passengers for larger groups.

Our Mendenhall Glacier & City Tour is a great value for those of you that are on a budget and our vehicles hold 14, 25 and 32 passengers.
